“Growing up with a mental health therapist mother, I’ve always gravitated towards psychology and stories of personal resilience. Since the sci-fi genre allows for small, personal ideas to be explored in a spectacle-induced, larger-than-life way, making a mental health-driven sci-fi seemed like the obvious choice. So many movies about loss are about moving on and learning to let go. As someone who maybe compartmentalizes and moves on too quickly, I wanted to tell a story that encourages you to hold on and remember.”
Caden’s ability to merge thought-provoking themes with dynamic visuals cements Recollection as a standout indie sci-fi thriller that resonates on a deeply human level.
